The Dikricher Photo-Club was founded in 1949. Membership is open to anyone passionate about photography, with no equipment requirements. Our aims: to help members improve in the art and various applications of photography; to organise courses, working sessions, visits to talks and exhibitions, excursions, study outings and competitions to build their skills and promote photography; and to document our region.

Since its beginnings, photography has continually evolved in step with technical progress. Initially entirely analogue, it went through a digital revolution that transformed both photographers' tools and practices. Today, a new era is opening with artificial intelligence, pushing the boundaries of visual creation still further, from editing to composing entirely new images. Yet beyond these spectacular changes, one thing remains constant: the power of a captivating idea. Whatever the technology — film, sensor or algorithm — photography remains above all an art of vision, emotion and personal perspective. It is this ability to conceive and express a strong idea that sets a photographer apart, far more than the tool they use.
